Cefizim – Effect, Application & Risks


The active ingredient cefizim is a semi-synthetic antibiotic with a relatively broad spectrum of activity. The antibiotic belongs to the category of so-called beta-lactam antibiotics . It is also a third-generation cephalosporin . Cefizime is usually administered perorally.

What is cefizime?

In pharmaceutical use, cefizime is used in the form of cefixime trihydrate. It is further processed into finished drugs that are available on the market.
